Holiday Events: Matzo Ball, Santa's Enchanted Forest & More

It may not be snowing outside, but there is definitely a lot of holiday cheer in South Florida, and we put together a list of events celebrating the season.

Danger Flow: They have performed on NBC’s Live Miami at 11a.m. Now you can catch the hip hop fusion group at Jazid on Miami Beach (1342 Washington Ave). Danger Flow will take the stage Friday at 10pm.  For more information go to dangerflowmusic.com

Matzo Ball:  Looking for that special someone?  Saturday you’ll have the chance to browse the crowd of eligible bachelors and bachelorettes at the 25th annual Matzo Ball.  It’s the nationals largest Jewish singles event.  It's taking place in several South Florida locations.  On Miami Beach the event will take place at LIV and Arcadia.  In Hollywood it is at Pangaea and Gryphon.  In Boca Raton at Spin Ultra Lounge.  Tickets are $30.  For  more information go to matzoball.org

Miss Jewish South Florida: Poise, beauty and intelligence; that’s what it takes to be Miss Jewish South Florida 2012.  The Miss Jewish South Florida returns after seven years.  It takes place Sunday at The Castle Beach Club Hotel on Collins Ave. on Miami Beach.  Doors open at 7pm.  For more information call 305.319.2499

Turn on the Bright Lights: Celebrate the seventh night of Chanukah with a festival of lights, shows and fun.  The Chanukah Festival at Gulfstream Park takes place  Monday at 7 p.m.  For more information click here.

Symphony in Lights:  The Symphony in Lights is back at The Village at Gulfstream Park.  More than 250,000 lights are synchronized to holiday music.  It runs every night from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. every hour on the hour.  For more information click here.

Santa's Enchanted Forest: What is said to be the world's largest Christmas theme park is back! Santa's Enchanted Forest at Tropical Park, located right off the Palmetto Expy. and Bird Rd., features more than 100 rides, games and attractions, as well as thousands and thousands of lights. Santa's Enchanted Forest is open through Jan. 8. Admission ranges between $17.76 and $25.69. For more information click here.

Poverello Center:  The holidays are often referred as the season of giving.  The Poverello Center acts of that giving aspect of the holidays and is asking you to do the same.  The “Live, Love, Give Fundraiser” will be collecting food, monetary donations, clothes and more all to benefit people with HIV and AIDS.  You can drop off your through Dec. 23 at The Poverello Center located at 2056 North Dixie Hwy in Wilton Manors.
