Whiteside Leads Heat to Win With Dominant Effort

The Heat made it two wins in a row with their 95-89 victory over the Pacers on Wednesday

The Miami Heat beat the Indiana Pacers 95-89 on Wednesday for their second win in a row.

This is only the third time this season that Miami has won back-to-back games, and the first time it has featured two home contests. The Heat are an unremarkable 4-8 this season at home even with these last two victories.

Hassan Whiteside had a monstrous outing with his 26 points and 22 rebounds along with a pair of blocks. The center dominated the Pacers from the start of the game, and led Miami to a big win. Indiana represents one of the teams that Miami could battle for a playoff spot if it improves in the latter half of the season.

Helping Whiteside in the win was a strong effort from the reserves. Miami received 43 points off the bench and 15 from Tyler Johnson alone. Johnson also had four rebounds, three assists and four blocks. The guard comes off the bench daily for Miami, but plays more minutes than some starters in the league. In this one, Johnson was on the court for 32 minutes.

Goran Dragic had an off-night with his shooting and was only 4-15 from the field. Dragic contributed in other ways however with five rebounds, six assists and two steals.

Miami will face a tough challenge on Friday when it hosts the Los Angeles Clippers at 8:00 p.m.
