Woman Arrested After Heroin Overdose in Miami With Toddler in Car

Police arrested a 27-year-old mother after she was found in a vehicle at a Miami intersection passed out from an overdose with her toddler child in the backseat.

An arrest report from the incident Sunday said a passenger in the car, 20-year-old Domingo Rodriguez, called police saying that the driver, Lynn Pelletier, was passed out in the driver’s seat after injecting herself with heroin.

When police arrived at the intersection of NE 2nd Avenue and 8th Street around 1:30 a.m., they found Pelletier with a syringe near her right arm and a crack pipe in the middle console.

She was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital for treatment before being placed under arrest, where she was charged with possession of heroin, drug paraphernalia and child neglect.

Both Rodriguez and the 18-month-old toddler were taken to the Miami Police Department. It is unknown if Rodriguez will be charged in the case or whether the child was placed in state custody.
