    Gun Discharge Being Investigated as Accident

    A Miami cop's gun accidentally discharged while he was in line at Publix, and the bullet ricocheted and grazed a woman. NBC 6's Laura Rodriguez reports.

    An off-duty City of Miami police officer accidentally fired a gun while in line at a Publix Wednesday, with the bullet grazing a woman who was behind the officer.

    The incident happened at the Publix at 16800 N. Kendall Drive.

    Miami-Dade Police officials said the officer had reached into his pocket when the gun accidentally fired. The bullet hit the ground then ricocheted and grazed the woman's leg.

    She was treated at the scene and didn't go to the hospital.
