A Miami-Dade woman was hospitalized Wednesday morning after she was stung by a scorpion that was hiding in her shoe, officials said.
The unidentified woman was getting ready for work at her home in the 13000 block of Northwest 41st Street when she slipped on her shoe and felt a sharp sting on her foot, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
Rescuers responded and took the woman to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she's expected to be okay.
The scorpion was found and was removed from the home.
