A woman was in critical condition Friday after she hit her head during a robbery at a truck stop gathering, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.

Kimberlyn Clarke, 28, from Plantation, was at a get-together in the parking lot of Cafe 27 at the Seminole Truck Stop at 4690 US Highway 27 in Weston.The gathering was also known as "Jamaican Night."

At 2:15 a.m. surveillance video shows one suspect spraying the crowd with pepper spray, making them disperse. In the ensuing commotion, the accomplice of the suspect grabs someone's gold necklace, authorities said.

Both suspects are seen running off camera and the man who got necklace stolen got his gun from his car and runs after them, but stops after seeing a trooper working off-duty at the truck stop, authorities said.

Paramedics transported Clarke to the Cleveland Clinic because when the suspect sprayed the crowd with the pepper spray, she fell and hit her head on the rear bumper of a van, authorities said.
