Woman Sexually Assaulted, Gun Stolen in Kendall Home Invasion

A car stolen from the home was later recovered in southwest Miami-Dade

Police are searching for three suspects who attacked a man and forced their way into his Kendall home where they sexually assaulted a woman.

The incident happened Wednesday night at a home in the 11500 block of Southwest 84th Avenue, Miami-Dade Police officials said.

Officials said three men who had their faces covered attacked a 76-year-old man in the driveway of the home around 9 p.m. before they forced their way into the house. Once inside, the man's 60-year-old girlfriend was sexually assaulted after both victims were tied up, police said.

Police said one of the suspects threatened in Spanish to cut off the woman's fingers if the couple didn't hand over money.

The suspects stole a gun and fled the home in a grey Lexus, police said. The car was later found in the area of Southwest 87th Avenue and Southwest 20th Street.

"We do believe that this is a random act and because of the fact that they took it as far as to sexually assault somebody, I mean, these are definitely individuals we don't want in our community," Miami-Dade Police spokesman Alvaro Zabaleta said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
