Woman Used Fake Credit Card to Book Cruise Vacation: Prosecutors

Melvia Mack allegedly used a Walmart Valued Customer Card re-encoded and re-embossed as a Discover credit card.

A woman was arrested after prosecutors said she used a fake credit card to book a Royal Caribbean Cruise vacation with a friend.

Melvia Mack faced a judge in Miami-Dade court Tuesday and faced charges of credit card forgery, grand theft and organized scheme to defraud.

According to prosecutors, Mack used a Walmart Valued Customer Card re-encoded and re-embossed as a Discover credit card on board a cruise on September 27. Mack allegedly also traveled with a companion who used a fake credit card to spend $1,500 on board the ship.

A judge entered Mack on a pre-trial release program for first-time offenders. If she violates the conditions of her release, she will be subject to a $20,000 bond.
