A South Florida yoga instructor found herself behind bars after she allegedly tried to smuggle marijuana and almost 100 pills into a Homestead correctional facility.

Patricia Rossato, who teaches a yoga course at the Dade Correctional Institution located off SW 377th Street and 192nd Avenue, was charged with three counts that included possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and trafficking of ecstasy. The 68-year-old is being held on $62,500 bond.

According to an arrest report, an investigation had taken place into possible drug smuggling at the facility. When Rossato arrived on Sunday to teach her class, officers found her carrying a radio with tape wrapped around it.

Rossato told guards that the radio was broken and she had borrowed it from someone else, but an odor of marijuana could be smelled coming from it. An officer discovered five grams of marijuana and 96 pills, believed to be ecstasy, inside. Rossato was arrested and transported to jail.
