Aerial Spraying Continues for Zika Virus in Wynwood Area While More Cases Reported Across Florida

Aerial spraying continues Wednesday across the Wynwood section of Miami-Dade County that has been the epicenter of the Zika crisis in the area.

While the latest round of flights saw the planes flying lower than normal in an effort to fight the spread of the disease, flights scheduled for Thursday will return to a higher elevation and cover the 10 square mile area that has been referred to as the “Zika Zone”.

Five more travel related cases of the virus were announced by the state on Tuesday, bringing that total to 452 cases across Florida. 30 cases of non-travel infections have been reported, with a vast majority coming in Miami-Dade County and the area north of Downtown Miami.
