Ain't No Party Like a Pink Slip Party

The Seminole Hard Rock is hosting a party for the jobless on Wednesday

There has never been a better time to celebrate getting fired. Well we guess there is never a good time to get a pink slip, but at least now you can party your tears away as a guest of honor.

The Seminole Hard Rock is one of several South Florida hot spots hosting "Pink Slip Parties" to help people who have lost their jobs. The event is at 88's Dueling Pianos from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and is free for the jobless masses. Another Pink Slip Party will be held in Miami on Thursday night at the Martini Bar on Sunset Place. The two parties are being hosted by JobsDirectUSA.

If the parties match the economy, then you should get their early because it's going to be a packed house as if P. Diddy is in the building. Now usually a depressed unemployed person and booze don't mix, but toss in a recruiter or an employer with job opportunities and you have the ingredients for a good time.

The "parties" are really networking opportunities that attract hundreds of the newly jobless and potential new gigs. The social/business get-togethers have become popular nationally, but not all are free, which is kind of a bummer for the people organizers are trying to attract - you know, the people who don't have any money because they don't have a job.

So bring your dancing shoes and a resume, and get your pink slip party on.
