The U.S. Coast Guard was responding to a small plane down in the Atlantic off Palm Beach County Friday.
Two people were on board the aircraft, which was reported down about 23 miles east of Palm Beach, Coast Guard officials said.
Officials said they're searching for a Piper Saratoga aircraft using boats and a helicopter.
Records show the fixed-wing, single engine plane took off from Palm Beach County Park Airport around 1 p.m. The aircraft is registered to Simmons Pet Properties LLC.
No other information was immediately known.
