Miami-Dade Police are looking for an armed man who kidnapped and tried to rape a woman while she was on her way home.
The 38-year-old woman was violently attacked by the man around 4:30 a.m. Monday in the area of West Dixie Highway and Northeast 115th Street.
Footage of the incident released by police showed the man run up behind the woman, who had a bicycle. The two struggle as the woman falls to the ground and is dragged by the man.
"It clearly shows that this wasn't a robbery," Det. Marjorie Eloi said. "This man was out to do harm to this victim."
Eloi said the victim was able to fight off the suspect and flee from the area.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 5-foot-7, with a thin build. The night of the attack he was wearing a black T-shirt and black cargo shorts.
"I would consider this man very dangerous," Eloi said.
