Armed Pair Rob Coral Gables Bank, Likely Robbed Others: FBI

The FBI is looking for two suspects who robbed a Coral Gables bank Friday and may be responsible for a rash of similar bank robberies in the area.

The latest robbery happened just after noon Friday at the Capital Bank at 1390 S. Dixie Highway. FBI officials said the two armed suspects entered the bank and demanded money from employees.

There were customers in the bank but no shots were fired and no one was injured.

Officials said they believe the suspects were involved in the robbery of a Miami Shores TD bank on Sept. 4 and Aug. 13, and an attempted bank robbery at a TD bank in Hallandale Beach on Tuesday.

The suspects have been using a getaway vehicle, a black Ford Ranger XLT, officials said. Anyone with information about the robbers or the vehicle are asked to call the FBI at 754-703-2000.
