Armed Robbery at Miami Beach Business Caught on Camera

Miami Beach Police are hoping surveillance footage can help them solve a frightening armed robbery at a travel business earlier this month.

The robbery happened the afternoon of Sept. 7 at Finest Vacation at 6638 Collins Avenue.

Owner Patricia Chiara spoke Wednesday about having a gun shoved in her face.

"I'm nervous, I couldn't talk, I was in shock," Chiara said. "And when he pointed the gun at me I tried to go outside, I tried to leave from the store."

Officials said a robber entered the business armed with a firearm and demanded cash before fleeing with a shirt on his face and more than $2,000. The gunman then got into a 2018 or 2019 white GMC Acadia that was waiting in a nearby alley.

It's believed the suspects stole a temporary tag before the robbery and placed it over the vehicle's tag.

Chiara said they have stepped up security, adding four new cameras.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
