Robber Pulls Gun on Cashier at Palmetto Bay Pizza Parlor

Police are looking for a man who was caught on camera robbing a Palmetto Bay pizza parlor at gunpoint.

The robbery happened at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Steve's Pizza on US 1 near 183rd Street. Surveillance cameras were rolling when a supposed customer walked in and ordered a jumbo slice.

"A guy came in with a gun and robbed us," said Alexis Pena, the owner.

The robber stole around $300 from the cash register.

"It wasn’t that much but it’s scary when you got a guy with a gun," Pena said.

The employee was not injured. But now the family business and neighborhood staple is concerned for their safety.

"Forty years in business and this is the second time that this has happened," Pena said. "We work so hard. So many hours and somebody come and take your money like that...it’s not right."

Anyone who recognizes the man in the video should contact Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
