One man is in critical condition after robbers shot him while trying to steal his gold chain in Hialeah.
The attempted robbery and shooting happened around 4 p.m. at an air conditioning supply business on East 10th Court. Ariel Anzola was outside the business when he was approached by a dark-colored SUV. An armed man got out of the vehicle and tried taking the victim's gold chain from his neck. The men struggled and Anzola was shot in the stomach.
Detectives spent several hours on the scene, staying even after dark, recovering evidence like shell casings and talking with witnesses.
Hialeah Police say four men were in the SUV that pulled up to the victim. Anzola was taken by ambulance to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
