Palm Beach County deputies have made an arrest in a nearly 20-year-old murder case.
The sheriff's office reports that detectives arrested 47-year-old Antonio Calvillo in the 1995 death of 27-year-old Shirley Laseter of Belle Glade. A warrant was issued for Calvillo's arrest less than two weeks after Laseter's death, but police said he had fled for Mexico.
Calvillo was located last week in San Francisco by a fugitive warrants specialist. He was taken into custody without incident on Monday.
An autopsy concluded Laseter died of blunt-force trauma, apparently with a five-gallon bucket of dirt found by her body.
Police say Calvillo could be a suspect in other crimes between 1991 and 1995. It's not known if he has obtained an attorney.
Calvillo was being held at the San Francisco Jail and a hearing will be held to determine if he will be taken back to Palm Beach County.
