Caught on Camera: Woman Wanted in Gun Theft Surrenders

A woman police say helped steal an elderly man's gun in a theft caught on surveillance video has turned herself in, and now police want the public's help in finding her accused accomplice.

Natasha Patricia Ohara Rodriguez, 33, was booked into jail Thursday on charges of grand theft.

She and a male accomplice were wanted for stealing a gun from inside the lobby of the Baptist Urgent Care Center at 13001 N. Kendall Dr. on Dec. 8, police say.

Orlando Trujillo, 73, had inadvertently left his bag in the lobby with the gun inside, police said.

In the video, a woman police identified as Ohara Rodriguez could then be seen on surveillance video sitting next to the bag, then getting up.

The video shows the man she was with, believed to be between the ages of 25 to 30, then picking up the bag and walking out.

Police still need the public's help to identify the man seen in the video. He faces charges of grand theft of a firearm.

If you know who he is, you are asked to call Miami-Dade Crimestoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
