At Least 12 Cars Vandalized at Ft. Lauderdale Fire Stations

Firefighters at three Broward fire stations woke up to several vandalized cars. Now, Ft. Lauderdale police and Broward Sheriff’s Office are investigating.

Cars at Ft. Lauderdale Fire Rescue stations 3, 47 and Broward Sheriff’s Office fire station 32 were all vandalized.

In all cases, the vandals broke into and smashed the windows of more than one dozen cars parked in the employee parking lots.

Surveillance cameras and fences did not deter the vandals from smashing into the cars.

At station 47, the vandals jumped the fence between 2 and 5 a.m. Sunday. All eight vehicles parked at the station were targeted and had broken windows.

Ft. Lauderdale Police say they are dusting for fingerprints and are reviewing surveillance video.

Victims said those responsible are keeping a close eye on fire trucks leaving the stations to respond to calls and are taking advantage of the situation.

Anyone with information on these crimes are urged to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
