A valet at an Aventura condominium complex was arrested on sexual abuse charges after police say he had a sexual relationship with a 12-year-old girl who was living in the building.
Mario Rafael Gallo, 50, was arrested Thursday on two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation on a child between 12 and 16 and three counts of lewd and lascivious battery on a child between 12 and 16, according to an arrest report.
The report said Gallo was a valet parker at the Aventura Marina One complex, where the girl lived with her aunt and uncle.
The girl told investigators she and Gallo had been in a sexual relationship for about six months, and detained how they had sex in May in the 18th floor stairwell of the building, the report said.
She said on at least two occasions they engaged in sex acts in the back seat of a van that belonged to a part-time resident of the building, the report said.
Surveillance footage from the building and Facebook messages between Gallo and the girl confirmed the girl's claims, the report said.
Gallo was booked into jail, where he remained held on $37,500 bond Friday, records showed. During a Friday court appearance, Gallo's attorney asked for a lower bond of $10,000, saying Gallo had surrendered and turned in his passport.
