Body Found in Lake at Broward College South Campus: Pembroke Pines Police

The body of a deceased male was found floating in a lake Tuesday morning, Pembroke Pines police confirmed.

He has been identified as 42-year-old Christopher Michael Adkins of Miramar. Police said no foul play is suspected in his death.

Adkins' body was found just before 11 a.m. floating in the lake at Broward College South Campus located at 7200 Pines Boulevard.

Neighbors who exercise regularly around the small lake put off their workout Tuesday morning as police pulled the man's body from the water.

"I always walk through there and go to class and come back. I never imagined there could be a body in there," said Giro Chavez, student.

Police have not said how Adkins died.

Broward College released the following statement:

"This morning, Broward College learned of an incident near the lake on the College's South Campus, in Pembroke Pines. The Pembroke Pines Police Department is currently investigating and there was no danger to the College community."
