Body of Missing Teen Fisherman Found in North Florida: FWC

The body of a teenage fisherman who fell into a north Florida river and became entangled in a fishing net has been recovered, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials confirm.

As reported by NBC affiliate WTLV in Jacksonville, 17-year-old Adam Rosier's body was found at approximately 11:30 a.m. Thursday. His body was found roughly 20 yards from where he fell off a commercial fishing boat into the St. John's River into 10 to 12 feet of water.

According to the report, Rosier and his uncle put their boat in at a marina, then headed off for a fishing trip off a private dock near Great Oaks Lane in Jacksonville's San Marco neighborhood.

Rosier was using a 12 feet by 20 feet casting net with 20 pound weights when the net somehow wrapped around his wrists.

The teen fell into the water around 7:30 a.m. and never resurfaced, according to FWC.

Search and rescue crews from the U.S. Navy, FWC, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department assisted in the search, which covered an area of about 200 yards out from the dock in about six to ten feet of water.
