University Medical Center in Tamarac Cleared After Bomb Threat: BSO

University and Hospital Medical Center in Tamarac has been given the all-clear after being evacuated Monday when a bomb threat was called in, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.

BSO officials said they received a call from the hospital at 7201 N. University Drive about the bomb threat around 12:30 p.m.

The emergency room was placed on lockdown and the bomb squad responded, officials said.

The bomb squad swept the lab and emergency room and nothing was found, but the incident remains under investigation, officials said.

The lockdown was lifted around 3:45 p.m.

No further details have been released about the incident.
