Boy Left Unsupervised at Pompano Beach Daycare Parking Lot: BSO

BSO investigating after boy was left unsupervised in daycare parking lot

The Broward Sheriff's Office is investigating after a young boy was left unsupervised at a daycare in Pompano Beach Monday.

According to the BSO, the 4-year-old boy was found in good condition in the parking lot of the Little Rainbow Daycare at 101 Southeast 11th Avenue around 6 p.m.

"I saw the little boy by himself up I thought somebody , since all the cars were there, all the little vans were there , I thought somebody was with him," neighbor Armedina Mireles.

A message left with the attorney for Little Rainbow wasn't immediately returned Tuesday.

The child was discovered by a passerby who notified authorities and he is in good condition, the sheriff's office said Tuesday. Authorities didn't say how long the boy was left unsupervised.

"I walked over to the store over there and saw the ambulance and fire trucks and all the police out here and then when I came back I saw them holding a little boy out in the parking lot," said another neighbor Roger Barteau.

The BSO's Special Victims Unit is investigating the incident, and no other details were available.
