A Boynton Beach Police officer is being hailed a hero after he jumped in to help a woman who was choking on broccoli in a restaurant.
The 82-year-old woman was in a Golden Corral Sunday night when she started choking on the piece of broccoli, Boynton Beach Police officials said.
That's when Officer Chris Schalk stepped in and performed the Heimlich maneuver.
"After 3-4 abdominal thrusts, the broccoli flew out of her mouth & she could breathe again!" police said in a tweet.
