A 2-year-old girl died at a Pompano Beach home Friday morning in an incident involving a piece of furniture, officials said.
Deputies responded to the home along 14th Terrace and Northwest 51st Street close to 9 a.m.
The toddler, later identified as 2-year-old Hope Ford, was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident happened inside a bedroom.

“This remains an active and ongoing investigation," BSO spokesman Carey Codd said. “At this point, detectives are interviewing people who were inside the home (and) they’re gathering evidence from the scene."
No further information was immediately known. The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
A neighbor across the street said he heard screaming and came outside.
