Broward Judge Agrees to 90-Day Suspension for DUI

A circuit judge has agreed to a 90-day suspension without pay in connection to a DUI arrest at the Broward County Courthouse.

A Florida Supreme Court filing released Monday shows that Judge Lynn Rosenthal would also receive a public reprimand, 12 hours of legal ethics training and family counseling. The Supreme Court still has to approve the agreement.

The sheriff's office reports that Rosenthal clipped a deputy's parked cruiser in the courthouse parking lot in May 2014.

Officials say Rosenthal was in possession of prescription anxiety medication at the time of the crash. A breath test revealed she had not been drinking alcohol.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel reports that Rosenthal previously pleaded no contest to reckless driving. Her attorney said Rosenthal had taken an accidental overdose of a prescription sleeping aid the night before the crash.
