A Broward County man was arrested on multiple counts of lewd or lascivious molestation and other charges after he allegedly performed sex acts on a 15-year-old girl in March, authorities said.
Jonathan Borrero, 29, was arrested Thursday and was being held on $225,000 bond early Friday, jail records showed. It was unknown whether he has an attorney.
Hollywood Police said the alleged crime started when Borrero met the 15-year-old in front of a Starbucks at Young Circle as the girl waited for a city bus. He told the girl he was a promoter and looking for interns. After initially denying his advance, the girl said Borrero bought her coffee and pastries and while talking with him she missed the bus.
The girl said she and Borrero later began walking to his house and when they both went inside the residence, he allegedly performed sex acts on her, but didn’t have intercourse with her, according to Hollywood Police.
Police said the girl didn’t report the incident at first, but told a friend the next day at school. The friend told school officials who then told police.
Borrero was charged with one count of lewd or lascivious battery, two counts of a lewd or lascivious molestation, and one count of a lewd or lascivious conduct upon the victim.
Borrero appeared in court Friday on an unrelated charge. On Thursday, he appeared before Judge John "Jay" Hurley.
"You're 29 years old, it appears that you're right now sexually abusing women," Judge Hurley said.
Hurley also mentioned both cases during Thursday's appearance.
"I don't know what's going on in your life, but this is the second time you've been arrested in a very short time, and the court believes you represent a danger to the community," Hurley said.
