Reward Offered in Alleged Credit Card Theft

Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are asking the public for help in identifying an alleged credit card thief.

The female suspect was caught on security cameras at a Publix store in Oakland Park on June 5th making a purchase with a stolen credit card, BSO officials said. She bought a gift card and flowers.

The card’s owner, Charles Pomonto of Miami, was unaware that his credit card information was stolen when he was notified of a fraudulent large purchase and an attempted second purchase.

The alleged credit card thief later made three additional purchases with the stolen card in Miramar and Fort Lauderdale. Her purchases totaled more than $1,000, officials said.

The suspect is a middle-aged female with long dark hair, a medium complexion, and medium build. During the incident, the suspect was wearing a purple, low-cut shirt, dark pants, gold necklace and was carrying black and white purse.

Anyone with information is asked to cal Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. A reward of up to $3,000 is available for information leading to an arrest.
