A portion of Alligator Alley from western Broward County to Collier County was closed Tuesday morning due to poor visibility from brush fires and heavy fog, officials said.
Interstate 75 from U.S. 27 over to Mile Marker 101 in Collier County was closed in both directions around 3 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
It was opened back up around 10 a.m., though delays were expected.
At one point, visibility was as low as 50 feet at some points on Alligator Alley, the FHP said.

It was later reported that a portion of Krome Avenue in both directions was closed due to heavy fog. That was also later reopened
U.S. 27 northbound was also closed from Alligator Alley all the way up to State Road 80 Palm Beach County early Tuesday but was opened back up around 10 a.m.
A dense fog advisory had been issued for Miami-Dade and Broward Tuesday until 9 a.m.
A portion of Alligator Alley was closed Monday due to smoke from a brush fire at Big Cypress National Preserve but was later reopened.
