BSO Looking for Armed Radio Shack Robbers

Trio caught on video robbing Pompano Beach store at gunpoint

Authorities are looking for a trio of thieves who were caught on video robbing a Pompano Beach Radio Shack at gunpoint.

The robbery happened around 11:45 a.m. on Aug. 16 at the store at 167 S. Pompano Parkway when a heavy-set man with dreadlocks who appeared to be talking on his cell phone walked to the counter to pay for merchandise, the Broward Sheriff's Office said Tuesday.

Instead of paying for the items, he pointed a gun at the female clerk, ordered her into the stockroom and told her to open the back door to allow his two accomplices in, the BSO said.

The three men were inside for several minutes, casually carrying out box after box of electronic equipment to a white Enterprise Rent-A-Car van that was parked in the back.

At one point, the clerk, who was on a conference call but had the phone on mute, had to start talking because her boss was asking for her, the BSO said. The portly gunman told her to answer and quickly get off the phone without saying anything or he'd shoot her, the BSO said.

The video shows the three men get in the van and drive away.

The BSO is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and are asking anyone with info to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
