A man was shot and killed by deputies Thursday after he charged toward officers holding a knife he was previously using to cut himself with, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.
Authorities said the 26-year-old man was using the knife to cut himself in of a store at 7300 West McNab Road in North Lauderdale.
According to officials, police responded to the disturbance and the man came outside with the knife, which officers told him to drop. Instead of complying, the man charged toward deputies and was shot several times by officers.
The man was transported to Broward Health Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. His identity has not been released at this time.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the incident and the deputy involved has been placed on administrative assignment.
