BSO Seeking Person of Interest in Oakland Park Fatal Traffic Dispute

Surveillance footage was released Wednesday of a person who sheriff's detectives say was involved in a deadly traffic dispute last week in Oakland Park.

The Nov. 17 incident left 27-year-old Ian Curtis dead.

Curtis, of Fort Lauderdale, had been involved in a traffic dispute with the driver of a pickup near the 200 block of East Oakland Park Boulevard that ended in Curtis being shot.

Curtis was seen exiting his white Mercedes-Benz before collapsing onto the roadway, and was found by a passerby, officials said. He was later pronounced dead at Broward Health Medical Center.

Officials said the suspect fled in a white, full-sized pickup that traveled northbound on Northeast Second Avenue.

Wednesday's surveillance video shows a man entering and exiting a Publix near the 200 block of East Oakland Park Boulevard shortly after the traffic dispute, according to BSO.

He was described as a black male of medium build wearing a white shirt with blue jeans and a blue jean jacket.

Anyone with information should call BSO Detective John Curcio at 954-321-4212 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
