The Miami restauranteur accused of killing his unborn child in L.A. may indeed have used a powder used in abortions to kill the fetus, according to an L.A.P.D. search warrant affidavit.
The affidavit, obtained by TMZ.com, confirms a report in the L.A. Times last month that police believe 8 oz. Burger Bar owner Josh Woodward allegedly rubbed a white powder on his girlfriend's vagina, causing her to miscarry her baby.
Woodward, 37, who also used to own Table 8 in Miami and has several famous eateries in L.A., was arrested in late October on suspicion of murder.
According to the affidavit, Woodward's girlfriend told police that during an intimate night in October, Woodward kept putting his hand in a plastic bag and then putting his hand on her vagina.
She claims she lost the baby a few hours after the incident and noticed a white powder in her underwear the same night.
Police believe the powder is Misoprostol, a drug used to induce labor and in early term abortions.
The girlfriend contacted the police, who had her call Woodward and tell him that she was still pregnant and wanted to see him.

As Woodward got to the apartment and was confronted by police, he pulled out a piece of plastic with a white powder on it and dropped it on the ground, according to the affidavit.
Woodward was arrested but later released. He refused to identify the powder, which is being tested by police to try to confirm that it is Misoprostol.
