A burglary suspect has died after he was shot by a police officer in Hialeah, police said.
The officer was responding to a call of a break-in at the Boost Mobile store at Palm Ave. and 5th Street in downtown Hialeah just after 4 a.m. when he confronted the suspect, police said.
The suspect was shot at least twice. He was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he later died.
The officer, a 10-year veteran of the force, has been placed on administrative duties while the incident is being investigated.
