As South Florida deals with the cleanup after Hurricane Irma’s passing, folks around South Florida are trying to return to some sense of normalcy.
On Friday night of last week, Miami Beach was bracing for a hit by Hurricane Irma. Like many other cities across the state, officials did what they could to protect the public.
Safety measures included evacuation orders in the days leading up to the storm. Starting last Saturday at 8 p.m., there were nightly curfews were put in place.
“So many lights were out, we didn’t want to risk people getting hurt,” said Mayor Philip Levine, “We gradually extended curfews. Now they are gone.”
Now, the Mayor says the party is back on at South Beach.
“It’s good to get out and away from the drama.”
The Irma, drama that is. Because, #TheBeachIsBack.
