Car Hits Biking Group in Weston Area, Injuring Four Bicyclists, BSO Says

The four injured were taken to Broward Health Medical Center, and the crash is under investigation

Four bicyclists were injured Saturday morning when a car struck their biking group in the northbound lanes of U.S. 27 near Weston, according to Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue.

At 8:44 a.m., paramedics responded a report of a multi-bicycle crash with injuries on U.S. 27, north of Griffin Road.

The four injured cyclists were taken to Broward Health Medical Center, according to sheriff’s spokeswoman Dani Moschella. One patient was taken by helicopter while the others were taken by ambulance.

Two of them were listed as “trauma alerts,” patients who appeared to be seriously injured.

U.S. 27 was closed a short time while the helicopter landed, but it has since been reopened, Moschella said. The crash is under investigation.
