SUV Crashes Into Pastor's Office at Hialeah Church

A pastor and his family are thankful no one got hurt after an SUV slammed straight into his office Thursday night at a church in Hialeah.

The vehicle went inside Inglesia Bautista Estrella De Belen at 510 East 41st Street, according to fire officials.

"It sounded like a bomb," said Sarah Sotolongo, the church's secretary and the pastor's daughter. She was inside the building at the time of impact.

"He landed two offices away from me, but everything crashed inside, so I pretty much saw the walls falling and all that stuff," she said.

The SUV tore through two thick concrete walls and came to rest completely inside of Javier Sotolongo's office.

"Well, that used to be my office," he said.

Fortunately, no one was hurt.

"I believe God saved my life today ... I was supposed to be in that office. And for some reason, I wasn't there," Javier Sotolongo said. "So if I was there, I was killed right now, and if my daughter moved to make a copy, she was dead too. So I believe this is a miracle."

Authorities towed the vehicle out of the church at around 9 p.m. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
