Celebrating The Holiday Season at Universal Studios

It’s hard to get into the holiday spirit in Florida because of the weather. But if you’re a local, you know you can visit Orlando and things will change. The theme parks are known for going all out over the holiday season.

Universal Orlando is unwrapping their annual Holidays celebration on November 17th and they promise to provide fun for the whole family.

If you’re a Harry Potter fan, you’ll want to check out Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. For the Holidays, Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley will transform into a “wizarding wonderland” with themed decorations, garland and lights. Guests can enjoy special holiday themed performances by the Frog Choir, Celestina Warbeck and Banshees and hot Butterbeer.

At night, make your way to Hogwarts Castle to see Christmas moments projected onto the castle which features music from the film’s soundtrack, lighting and pyrotechnics.

New York comes to Orlando with the Universal Holiday Parade. The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York is known for its larger-than-life inflatable balloons featuring character favorites from movies and TV shows. Now, some of those balloons can be seen at the Universal Holiday Parade, featuring special appearances from Despicable Me, Shrek and Madagascar. Guests can also expect to see floats, performers and much more.

For the Grinch in the family, they can catch the maven of mischief during Grinchmas. Guests can enjoy the “Who-liday Spectacular” which retells the story of the Dr. Seuss classic. A character breakfast with the Grinch is also available for a separate fee.

Those looking to ring in the New Year in Orlando can also do so at Universal Orlando. Universal Orlando will host a New Year’s Eve celebration complete with party zones, live music, character appearances, party favors, confetti and fireworks.

Guests 21 and up can enjoy a more upscale party at EVE at CityWalk. There, guests will get access to six clubs with live bands and DJs, food and the chance to dance all night long on Orlando’s largest outdoor dance floor. Tickets for EVE start at $109.
