Video of Chained Dog on Cage on I-95 in Florida Sparks Outrage

A viral video of a driver towing a dog chained on top of a cage down a Florida highway has sparked outrage and an investigation.

An SUV was recorded on Interstate-95 with a dog in tow traveling at speeds of up to 75 mph.

Someone in a passing car recorded the incident and shared the video on Facebook. The video has since been viewed more than 1.4 million times and shared almost 16,000 times.

The video spread so rapidly on social media that the owner himself called the Flagler Humane Society.

Investigators say the dog’s owner was going hunting with two other dogs inside the crate.

A Flagler County ordinance says that animals should be restrained by a minimum of two tethers to safely restrain them from easily escaping vehicles.

The dog’s owner will be fined for violating the ordinance after the investigation found that only one tether was used to restrain the dog.
