Toddler and Man Killed in Fiery Crash in Northwest Miami-Dade

A toddler and a man were killed in a fiery Thanksgiving Day crash in northwest Miami-Dade, officials said.

According to Miami-Dade Police Department, a Mercedes and a Honda Civic traveling at a high rate of speed collided and caught fire in the 2900 block of Northwest North River Drive Thursday afternoon around 3:30.

The man and a child were killed while a woman was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center where she is listed in critical but stable condition, officials said. A fourth victim refused treatment.

Cell phone footage from a witness showed flames and heavy smoke coming from the cars. The witness said it sounded like a bomb had exploded.

Officials haven't released the names of the victims. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
