Child Killed After Deadly Rollover Crash in Westchester Late Thursday Night

A rollover crash in Westchester late Thursday night claimed the life of a young child and sent several others to the hospital.

Florida Highway Patrol officials said the crash took place just after 10 p.m. near the intersection of Southwest 92nd Avenue and Bird Road, saying a Toyota Camry was struck by a Ford truck while it was attempting to make a left turn.

Officials say seven-year-old Christian Tomas, a passenger in the Camry, died at the scene while the driver – identified as 32-year-old Efren Matis – was taken to Kendall Regional Medical Center in serious condition.

Three people in the truck – identified as 24-year-old Melissa Vasquez, 25-year-old Rosa Exposito and 14-year-old Sabrina Martinez – were also hospitalized as a result of the crash.
