Boy, 8, Rushed to Hospital After Being Bitten by Dog: Miami Fire Rescue

An 8-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital after he was bitten by a dog in Miami Thursday, officials said.

The incident happened at 3820 Northwest 12th Street in the City of Miami, which is where the owner of the dog lives.

Initial reports from Miami Police indicate that the 8-year-old boy was walking with his mom when the dog attacked him, biting him in the arm and leg.

The child was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

The mother indicated to Miami Fire Rescue crews that the dog appeared to be an American Bulldog. She was not injured.

Miami-Dade Animal Services confirmed the dog is a 6-year-old American Bulldog that is fully vaccinated and has never missed any appointments. Animal Services said they don't have a history with the dog but they are launching an investigation.

No further details were immediately available.
