Boy, 10, Hurt in Drive-By Shooting Outside Southwest Miami-Dade Home

A child was rushed to the hospital after reportedly being shot in the leg while playing outside of a Southwest Miami-Dade home Monday.

Police responded to the scene at Southwest 104th Avenue and 177th Street just after 12:30 p.m., where the 10-year-old male child was found and taken to an area hospital.

Family members said the boy was sitting in the yard when the shooting happened around 12:30 p.m. They said someone drove by the home and started shooting, and said the boy was hit twice after at least six shots were fired.

Officials have not released any information on the shooting investigation or who they may be looking for.

The child's condition was unknown.
