Clerk Punched, Held at Gunpoint in Convenience Store Robbery in Deerfield Beach: BSO

Video captures frightening armed robbery at Stop N Go store

Authorities are looking for two men who punched a clerk in the face as they robbed a Deerfield Beach convenience store at gunpoint.

The robbery happened just before 3 a.m. on Aug. 1 at the Stop N Go at 3774 Northeast 3rd Avenue, according to a release from the Broward Sheriff's Office.

According to the BSO, one of the suspects held a revolver as he forced the clerk, 60-year-old Khaled Zaidan, to open the cash registers.

When Zaidan hesitated, the suspect pushed and punched him in the face, the BSO said. After raiding the registers, the suspect made Zaidan hand over his wallet.

A customer who was inside the store at the time was also forced to stand with Zaidan during the robbery, the BSO said. The frightening incident was caught on the store's surveillance video.

The BSO is asking anyone with information to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
