Close Encounters Spook Florida Family

Little green men visit Florida family

It's a long way from Miami to North Port, but it might be worth the trip across the state if retiree Michael Rowley's claims are true.

"Well, I'm retired and I thought this was where you're supposed to go," Rowley told WBBH. "The only bad part is the aliens around here."

That's right: Rowley has an alien problem.

The 58-year-old said the close encounters began as soon as he and his son, Shane, 16, moved into the home in April.

"Wings, I haven't seen the wings, but we know he flies," he said.

The ET experience has Michael and Shane scared to venture outside their house.

"They kind of show up when they want, and you get used to them. Kinda creepy though, walking around the woods with those big eyes and stuff," Shane said.

The Rowleys claim to have had over five encounters in the past four months, with the aliens approaching from the woods behind their house.

The two say they captured an alien on videotape, and have a plaster mold of what they claim is the alien's footprint.

The alleged sightings have even gotten the attention of MUFON, the Mutual UFO Network. The group is investigating the X-File and wants to set up surveilance.

Rowley doesn't think the aliens will appear if they see cameras, but he believes they come in peace.

"I'm a combat Vietnam veteran and I don't wake up until something good is going on," said the elder Rowley. "This is something big and good going on, yeah."

"No one believes anything. I didn't believe it at first."
