Clumsy College Student Ends Up Injured While Trying to Bribe Cop at Ultra

A man who tried to bribe a police officer at Ultra Music Fest ended up in handcuffs with a busted lip, according to police.

Rodrigo Ruvalcaba, 23, was arrested Sunday night after he was turned away at a security checkpoint at the Ultra Music Fest in Downtown Miami.

Miami Police said the college student walked through the security gates with no ticket or wrist band. A security guard called over a police officer who stopped Ruvalcaba and told him to leave the premises. That's when police said the 23-year-old asked the officer "how much so you can let me in?"

The officer rejected his offer and tried to escort Ruvalcaba when he refused to leave. According to an arrest report, the 23-year-old pushed the officer, turned around and squared up in an aggressive way.

Officers say he then turned around to walk away but then tripped over a metal barrier and fell to the ground. Ruvalcaba busted his lip and bruised his eyebrow and forehead area during the fall.

He was charged with aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer and bribery.

According to Ruvalacaba's Facebook page, he is a student at Ibero-American University in Mexico City, Mexico.
