Women Who Reportedly Jumped Off Boat in Florida Keys Found Safe: Coast Guard

Two women who reportedly jumped from a small row boat off the Florida Keys and tried to swim ashore early Tuesday have been found safe after a Coast Guard search.

In a news release, the U.S. Coast Guard said the women called to say they were safe and with friends Tuesday afternoon.

The incident was reported around 2:30 a.m. by a man who said he was on the boat with the women when they jumped overboard.

Officials say a man called the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, saying he lost sight of the women in the water.

The Coast Guard sent a helicopter crew from Miami and a boat crew from Marathon to search for the women.
