Comcast to Add 600 New Jobs at Miramar Facility

Comcast is expanding in South Florida and creating more than 600 jobs at its new Miramar facility, the company announced Thursday.

Gov. Rick Scott was part of the announcement and recognized Comcast for its commitment to hiring members of the military community, including veterans, National Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses.

“Today’s announcement shows that our focus on economic development and making Florida the most business-friendly state in the nation is clearly keeping our state on track to becoming first for jobs. I look forward to seeing Comcast’s continued success across the state,” said Gov. Scott.

Comcast said it has made significant improvements to its customer service through employee training, offering new customer tools and reducing wait times for service. The company is now aiming to answer a customer’s phone call in at least 30 seconds.

“The 600 new jobs here in Florida are an important part of our commitment to making the customer experience our best product,” said Reggie Scales, Comcast’s Vice President of Business Services. “The investments we are making and the jobs we are creating in Florida will have a positive impact on our customers.”

Comcast currently employs more than 30,000 Floridians at more than 300 locations across the state.
